When it comes to packing for any vacation, it can be a challenge, but a trip to Walt Disney World is by far the trickiest.
Here are my top ten must haves:
10. Small Purse: I wouldn't be caught dead with a bulky, dark, hot fanny pack. I prefer a sling purse so I can pack snacks for the family. I always pick a light color, usually tan, beige, white, yellow, or pink.
9. Chapstick: I have really dry lips when I'm not baking in the Florida sun. Make sure to get chapstick with SPF because your lips (I Promise) will bake just like your skin.
8. Rain Ponchos: They sell rain ponchos in Walt Disney World in case you would forget, but you can get value packs at Walmart or any of the Dollar Stores. Florida's afternoon rain showers are often unpredictable.
7. Snacks: Bring a couple bags of pretzels or dry snacks. You don't want to have to buy fries everytime the kids get hungry. I know from experience.
6. Change: Maybe I'm goofy, but we love the penny pressing. My kids each do one and at the end of the trip we end up with tons of pressed pennies. We usually put them all in a penny book.
5. Music: If you are driving, it is a must. We buy a new Disney CD for every trip. We have a very long drive and it really gets the kids into the Disney Magic.
-Disney's Greatest Hits
-Walt Disney World Official Album
4. Disney Jammies: We get a couple pairs of Disney Pajamas per child before we go.
My girls wear the princess jammies and nightgowns as well as Minnie Mouse and Tinkerbell
My boys wear Mickey, Donald and Goofy.
3. Disney Movies: Another must have for long car trips. I cannot stress how many melt downs this saved us. For instance, the kids get really crabby and want to go to sleep, but can't so we pop a DVD in and they fall asleep.
Since I have boys and girls we watch:
-Aladdin
-Mulan
-Brave
-Hercules
-Toy Story
-Mary Poppins
-Monster's Inc.
2. Disney Stuffies: My kids get a new Disney stuffed animal for their disney trip or we put away their previous year's one if it's not to gross. I pick them up on sale at ToysRUs on Black Friday for about $10 or less if I'm lucky.
1. Hats: Take hats for the kids and yourself. I have a thick head of hair, but I have gotten my scalp burned and it is very painful. Pack Hats!
