It has been awhile since I posted, but we've been super busy with summer and everything. We're headed back to the sunshine state in August. I can't wait, but here are some food tips for you!
Downtown Disney:
It is so expensive here. With young kids, you can't spend a long time here anyways. I would suggest eat at your resort or your Disney hotel. The food is not good for kids. As far as I know, there is only a few restaurants that you don't have to have reservations and otherwise don't waste your meal plan or money. I would suggest getting a treat here like a pretzel or we got Italian Ice. Do not get the chocolate kind. My son got it and my husband ended up with it instead and it is nasty!
Disney's Boardwalk:
There is a bakery, a pizza shop, and many other small booths around. Their hotdogs are to die for! Their pizza is pretty amazing too. The kids got hot dogs and fries; my husband and I hot pizza. Also their baked goods are fantastic, but super expensive and double portions so share... We bought two gigantic cupcakes and our family of six shared them and we were stuffed.
Magic Kingdom:
Unless, you are doing a character breakfast, save the hassle and cash and eat breakfast before you get to the park. It's tradition in our household to eat at Pinnochio's Village Haus. It however was closed when we were there. We tried something new though and tried Harbor House directly across from the Haunted mansion. It was fantastic. They have some fish but they also have chicken and other kid-friendly foods. Dinner on the other hand... I have little kids so we have stayed for the parade and the fireworks. If you are staying for the fireworks you may have to spring for fries or popcorn or some sort of snack. This year we didn't stay for the fireworks the kids were tired because it was really hot all day, so afterward we went to our resort outside of Disney and made microwave pizzas. You will definitely have to buy lots of drinks throughout the day.
Hollywood Studios:
Again, eat breakfast at home. Eat a larger breakfast everyday when going to Disney Parks. Do not eat any kind of breakfast that you will feel hunger soon after like Poptarts, doughnuts, or cookies. Try and eat you lunch later or early. I would recommend later but it really is personal preference if you would rather not eat a big breakfast and have an early lunch, go for it! Honestly, eat at 11:00am or eat at 1:30 you will miss the food lines and you will be riding while others are eating. We are lunch at Pizza Planet near Mupet Vision in that general area. Save money by splitting pizzas. There are 6 of us and we bought three and split the little pizzas. Same as Magic Kingdom, buy fruit bars and ice cream if it's hot. It will save you some melt downs. For dinner Fairfax Fare is where we ate. We got hot dogs which weren't bad, but which hot dog place doesn't have FRIES!!!!!!!! The hot dogs were good though for a snack before the last few rides and shopping spree.
Typhoon Lagoon:
At Typhoon Lagoon, we had a late lunch. We had 2 baskets of chicken tenders and fries and we split them. They were very yummy! This was at the main restaurant there. We also sprang for two of the refillable cups which were great! It kept us hydrated since it was very hot. Then we ate at TGIFriday's which was on our way home to our resort.
